By special request, the following one-day training and educational experience with Lee Harrington is being taught for BDSM, Kink, Leather, LGBT, Queer, Poly, Sex Magic, and Swinger educators. This announcement is back-dated one year as it is not being dissimenated in any mass-mailings, but is instead preferred to be shared word of mouth.

Date: Saturday January 21, 2012
Time: Noon-1:45p, 2p-4p, 4:15p-6p
Price: $45-85 sliding scale per student
Location: A private home in Bushwick, Brooklyn, off the J/Z (Chauncey) and L (Wilson)

This intensive is best suited to beginner and intermediate experience educators, but may have some material of interest for more experienced educators. Lee will dialogue with more experienced educators on the appropriateness of their involvement.

Noon-1:45p:

Finding Your Unique Voice as an Educator

What sort of presenting really calls to you, and why? Do you want to lead group discussions, lecture in front of an auditorium, provide one-on-one mentorship, or give skill demonstrations? What sorts of topics are you called to present on? Physical skills, emotional experiences, the psychology of what it is that we do, history and academics, or perhaps something totally different? Many of us start out presenting because we are well known for something we do and others want to learn, or because no one else would step up on a topic- but what do *you* want to teach on? What styles will best carry your message and your specific voice? Let’s look at what styles and content truly call to you, and also examine options for both you might not of thought of that may be your calling waiting for you.

2p-6p:

Effective Speaking and Presentation Skills

Have you always wanted to speak in front of a crowd but are too jittery? Perhaps you are an experienced speaker or educator who wants their lectures and presentations to stand out and be remembered? Come learn how to effectively use your voice and body language to communicate your message in a wide variety of teaching and speaking environments. From claiming of space to audience empathy, use of vocal range to hiding your nervousness, we will plunge in together and come out more certain of our ability to deliver our message.

Though the skills we will be using and developing are good for all individuals, examples and stories will be from within a BDSM, Kink, Leather, LGBT, Queer, Poly, Swinger and beyond context. Bring tools for taking notes, wear comfortable clothing, and have an open mind for exploring the joy in passing on our passions. Students will receive a digital take-home packet, beyond in-class resources, for further developing their unique voice and skills.

What to bring:
Comfortable clothes
Reusable water bottle (optional)
Notebook or other note-taking device
Sense of openness and willingness to engage
Your business cards, smart phone, or other networking tools

Please come fed in advance. Optional group dinner available afterwards for those who want to continue the conversation.

To register please contact Lee@PassionandSoul.com to see if there are spaces available

See you there!

Lee Harrington is a passionate spiritual and erotic educator, gender explorer, eclectic artist and published author and editor on human sexuality and spiritual experience. He’s been traveling

the globe (from Seattle to Sydney, Berlin to Boston), teaching or talking about sexuality, psychology, kink, faith, magic and desire since 1996, and has no intention of stopping any time soon. Along his journey he has been a brainy academic, a female adult film performer (under his previous name Bridgett Harrington), a world class sexual adventurer, an outspoken philosopher, a long-time sexuality and spirituality blogger (since 1998), a spirit worker and priest, and an award winning writer and artist. Overall, Lee is a nice guy with a disarmingly down to earth approach to the fact that we are each beautifully complex ecosystems, and we deserve to examine the human experience from that lens.

As an educator, Lee has lectured in large university halls, led intensive 3-day retreats, performed learning rituals and stage shows, done one-on-one coaching, facilitated group discussions, run interactive workshops, and spoken at the front of a wide array of classical classroom settings. In 2010 he taught at the first ALPSEC (Alternative Lifestyle Presenter Skills Educational Conference) at the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago, Illinois. He is regularly called upon by alternative sexuality organizations to help them make decisions on planning, and as part of that consulting work, has come to deeply appreciate the hard work it takes for any presenter to speak from their authenticity (whether it be as a bard, coach, pundit or something else entirely).

His books include “Shibari You Can Use: Japanese Rope Bondage and Erotic Macramé,” “Sacred Kink: The Eightfold Paths of BDSM and Beyond,” the “Toybag Guide to Age Play,” and “Shed Skins: Journeying in Self-Portraits.” He has also worked as an anthology editor on such projects as “Rope, Bondage, and Power” and “Spirit of Desire: Personal Explorations of Sacred Kink,” while contributing actively to other anthologies, magazines, blogs and collaborations internationally. Check out the trouble Lee has been getting into, as well as his regular podcast, tour schedule, free essays, videos and more over at www.PassionAndSoul.com.

Starting this week, join me as I debut my monthly podcast on Erotic Awakening! On the third Monday of every month, I will be bringing you my thoughts from my travels, discussing projects, and delving into a topic of the month on the topics of sexuality, kink and spiritual exploration.

January’s episode (EA-098) explores our personal stories of our sexual journeys, and sharing them with the world (or keeping them in the shadow). I read from my newest anthology, “Spirit of Desire: Personal Explorations of Sacred Kink,” and dive into my mission for the new podcast.

February’s podcast will be on consensual non-monogamy, from swinging to polyamory and beyond. If you have questions for me on this topic or others, write me at lee@passionandsoul.com with the subject line “Ask Lee,” to have your questions answered on the podcast or on PassionAndSoul.com.

Spirit of Desire: Personal Explorations of Sacred Kink
Edited by Lee Harrington
Mystic Productions Press
266 pages, Trade Paperback, ISBN 978-0-557-99241-6, ©21010

Touched Deeply, Changed Forever

In Sacred Kink: The Eightfold Paths of BDSM and Beyond, Lee Harrington discussed how the tools we use in kink and sex go back into spiritual history, and that our sexual explorations have the potential to open us up in the world and beyond. Spirit of Desire opens up that dialogue with thirty-three profoundly personal and diverse stories sharing the revelations, power, connections, and pathways explored in Sacred Kink.

Each of these passages is shared from the heart, a glimpse into the intimate. Some of the authors have been on the road for decades, others for a very short time; some have spoken about their passions before, while others are only now putting pen to page. Through their eyes we will dive deep and find new insights into:

Catharsis. Clarity. Intimacy. Lust. Devotion. Passion. Beauty.

Hope. Energy. Faith. Intention. Fear. Consent. Service. Openness.

Suffering. Surrender. Connection. Sacredness. Desire. Forgiveness.

Divinity. Epiphany. Love… and much more

Whether you are a traveler on the road of sexual expression, a spiritual seeker on a quest for enlightenment, or a curious creature wondering what this is all about… pull up a seat, and be prepared for a dive into journeys that will take your breath away, leave you hot and bothered, have you pondering the nature of love, and meditating on a wide variety of odysseys. Open your heart, open your mind, and get ready to explore these personal journeys of Sacred Kink.

Lee Harrington is an internationally known sexuality and spirituality educator, gender adventurer, artist, shaman and published author on bondage, role-playing, gender, open relationships, and sacred sex. For more information visit www.PassionAndSoul.com.

Arizona LeatherSIR 2010, internationally renowned sexuality author and educator Lee Harrington is inviting you to explore our relationship to this often-said but rarely explored word: Sir. From growing up in the south to embracing the erotic tension, gender conformity to reclaiming power after pain, our relationships with this three letter word are complex.

This fundraiser project for CARAS (Community-Academic Consortium for Research in Alternative Sexualities), it is an attempt to explore our relationships to this word, whether in the Leather, BDSM and Kink worlds, or in our multi-faceted lives at large. Some ideas for topics may include:

- The tension between Sir as mundane term and Sir as a term of power
- First times using the word Sir in relationships or play (saying or hearing)
- The differences in saying Sir to different people
- Gender and the word Sir
- Class or Race dynamics and Sir
- Sir as an honorific or diminutive term
- Sir in the workplace or culture at large
- Finding a balance between identities
- History of the word Sir in culture
- … and more!

Authors are invited to write 2-10 pages (approximately 1000-5500 words). Non-fiction is preferred; fiction and poetry will be considered on a case by case basis.

Who Should Contribute:

We are looking for a variety of contributions- Masters/Mistresses and Slaves, Tops and Bottoms, Leather, Male, Female, Genderqueer, Straight, Queer, Monogamous, Polyamorous, Old and New Guard, Experienced and Fresh-eyed… and everyone else. English-language contributions preferred, but multi-lingual entries accepted on a case by case basis.

How To Contribute:

Send a one-paragraph summary of the concept of what you want to write about to Lee@PassionAndSoul.com with the subject line “Coming to Sir Anthology” before September 1st, 2010. Also include up to one paragraph about yourself as the author.

Why the summaries first? A book of only one type of entries would not show the diversity of experiences with the word Sir taking place in our community and behind closed doors.

Once summaries have been accepted, authors will have until October 7th to get their rough draft in. New authors will be worked with throughout the process to help share their unique story with the world.

Compensation:

Authors will have their biographies listed in the book, have wholesale rights to the project, and receive 1 finished copy of the book upon completion. All profit from “Coming to Sir” in 2010 and 2011 will benefit CARAS (see http://www.CARAS.ws), with checks cut to CARAS on a quarterly basis.

Anthology Call-
Spirit of Desire: Personal Journeys in Sacred Kink

In 2009, Lee Harrington’s “Sacred Kink: The Eightfold Paths of BDSM and Beyond” opened up the dialogue around altered states of consciousness, sexuality with intent, sex magic, and BDSM and its intersections with faith to an audience hungry for information. Now, it’s time to tell your stories.

Have you experienced catharsis, ordeals, transformation or a rite of passage in your erotic edge experiences? Do your perceive your consensual slavery as an ascetic path, find depth in your fear play, or dance in delight at the end of a lash? Do your fetish objects hold actual power? Does your connection to the divine manifest through your kink, engaging you through possession in or through scenes or as a sacred consort? Perhaps you have a different tale to tell?

Authors are invited to write 2-10 pages (approximately 1000-5500 words) about their own personal experiences with Sacred Kink. Anthology contributions need to be about a specific encounter or theme/concept within the life of the author, not on Sacred Kink in general. Fiction is not appropriate. Poetry will be considered on a case by case basis.

Who Should Contribute:

We are looking for a variety of contributions- Tops and Bottoms, Masters/Mistresses and Slaves, Fetishists, Voyeurs, Swingers, Male, Female, Genderqueer, Straight, Queer, Monogamous, Polyamorous, Monotheist, Pantheist, Atheist, God-Owned… and everyone else. English-language contributions preferred, but multi-lingual entries accepted on a case by case basis.

How To Contribute:

Send a one-paragraph summary of the concept of what you want to write about to Lee@PassionAndSoul.com with the subject line “Spirit of Desire Anthology” before August 1st, 2010. Also include up to one paragraph about yourself as the author.

Ritual & Protocol
Desire & Connection
Body & Spirit
Personal Challenges & Experience

In this three day intensive we will journey through our personal experiences and desires for connected, intentional dominance and submission, as well as our further explorations as erotic adventurers and integrated individuals. We will begin by looking at what the rituals can mean within Dominance and submission, and setting the intentions for our weekend together. In the morning we will take personal inventory of what we have, what we long for, and what our inner wisdom holds, before turning our eye to what we want our systems for connection and communication hold. After that, we will tap into the possibilities of making D/s a spiritual and connectivity tool, not just a way to have a good time (though we like a good time, too). Finally we will split into peer discussion groups to explore our personal challenges and desires in D/s, our experiences and hopes, before coming back together to look at our perfect pictures again and work towards making them manifest.

Though the descriptions at the link below examine what we will be looking into, the weekend is one unit whose finest details will be set between the presenter and attendees in this intensive. Adventurers in this intensive will be having a weekend experience, diving in together but coming up with tools for their own route through the maze of desire and passion. Come curious and hungry for ideas and information, and ready to open up and share your own longings and stories.

http://passionandsoul.com/?page_id=179

This event is limited to 10 registered attendees, 1 of which are scholarship spaces (half price). If interested in applying for the scholarship, please email Lee@PassionAndSoul.com with information about why the half-priced rate is helpful for you, and what draws you to wanting to attend Delving Into Power in Frederick, Maryland, August 13-15, 2010.

When: August 13-15, 2010
Where: Frederick, MD (Full address provided to attendees)

It is called “Spirals & Shards – Pagan Poetry from the Back of the Heart” and it is dedicated to Fuensanta.

In this work I have two pieces… “I Stand in Awe” (about my devotional work for Bear) and “Spread Wide” (dedicated to Hera). Fuensanta will be deeply missed.
